The Logo Graphic Design project required us to create a geometry based logo out of our names. We were instructed to use different kinds of lines, angles and other basic geometry shapes within the spelling of our name. This work assignment demonstrated our understanding of the words/other information corresponding to different kinds of shapes, angles and lines.
This project relates to the twenty first century skill, think and problem solving skills. The definition of think and problem solving skill is: students will demonstrate thinking and problem solving in all curricular areas through projects, applications of scientific method, higher order math skills, and literary analysis. And that is exactly what I am applying to this work assignment, I am analyzing what is needed of me and trying to create a solution of how angles, lines and other basic geometry shapes are required.
Personally my favorite part of my work is how I spelled out my name. It is so geometric and colorful, even though it's math class it was a fun way to think creatively. I think it really expresses how much work I put in.
I improved on how I use my thinking and problem solving skills by gaining experience for future instances. I improved in a way of thinking outside of the box and really working my mind to obtain the mental strength to do other projects like this.
The most difficult part of this assignment was trying to figure out how to implement different angles, lines, etc. into my name where you can still read/understand what it says (my name). I also had some difficulties with having enough colors for all the different requirements.
If I was to redo this assignment I would have used color pencils instead of markers because the markers bleed through too much and there weren't many color options. I think the design would be prettier if I had more colors that looked less similar to one another.
I would relate this project to past work assignments by how I choose to create a few first drafts before finalizing what I choose to turn in. I would also relate it to how I started off with the requirements that take up more space and harder requirements to place. In which I can only achieve this from past mistakes of wisdom I have acquired.
If I were to apply what I have created and what I have learned from this project it would be how I would act upon if an assignment like this appeared up again. For example next time I will use color pencils, and I would space out my key a little more so there isn’t an empty space.
