This assignment was created by my math teacher Ms. Marsh. In which we were required to create a comic trip with the basic trigonometry function of (tangent, sine and cosine) of where we had to have our characters be able to use the functions to solve the problems that lay ahead.
This assignment addressed the 21st century skill of communication skills. This is because we had to be able to communicate to an audience by creating a comic strip. For this I had to think of a way to be able to explain to my readers how you would be able to use trigonometry functions in real life situations. I am most proud of how I was able to create a comic strip in which my audience can read and understand how to use sine, cosine, and tangent. I was also proud of the name, which in the end is actually insignificant but I think it was cute and pulled it all together. While working on this assignment I was able to improve my communication skills by being able to converse with my target audience in a fun way of a story from a comic. Which was about some friends hiking Haleaka and the distance of where they were going. The most difficult part of completing this assignment was creating a fun and cute idea that can appeal to different types of people. I choose a simple story that everyone would like and it applies to our home of Maui. If I were to do this project again I would probably take the time to learn how to draw faces. For the project the characters have no faces, which is quite interesting but most definitely next time I will choose a style I like and learn how to do so. This relates to past projects and assignments of creating comics and how to make them fun and appealing to all sorts of people so that I may be able to spread the information in an entertaining way. I will be able to apply this to future learning by knowing how to create comics for class subjects and my understanding of trigonometry functions and how to be able to apply them to real world situations. |
