The Panama assignment required us to create a poster about our country. In mine and my group’s case, it was Panama. We had to split the work subjects among our group. For example my part of the presentation was on the history of Panama.
This project addresses the twenty first century skill Interpersonal Skills. Due to the fact that, throughout the course of the project I had to work with multiple other people to create our poster. Together we had to be able to communicate what needs to be done and how to do it effectively.
Our poster was the most creative compared to the other groups. We really went for it and in the end the hard work paid off. The poster’s features were very out of the box thinking style. We wrote our information onto postcards as if someone sent the information from Panama to us.
During this assignment I was constantly working on improving my Interpersonal skills because I was always in a situation where the project needed to be communicative towards each other. This project wasn’t a one person style and required us to relentlessly work.
The most challenging part of this project was the presentation, because I had so many flash cards and notes for speaking which had me up there for a good few minutes. This was challenging because I had to be talking the entire time loud enough for the entire class to hear while some of my words had to be in spanish.
If I was to do this project again I would have chosen a different topic about Panama. Don’t get me wrong the history was very interesting but I would want to learn more about the culture.
If I was to relate this to my past assignments and projects it would be the practice of talking in front of the class for presentations really helped or how to find reliable sources.
Applying this to future learning and projects, I would take away that the presentation part is definitely a little more important than the information itself. I would use this information to make sure all of my posters look good and have interesting characteristics.
