This Art Assignment Examples Communication Skills and Self Directional Skills
In the first semester we did an art project in Ms. Getzen's class. The lesson was to draw or paint an art piece that correlates to Picasso's artistic style. We were to create an abstract portrait of you of no one in particular. I created a drawing of a face but the face was in black and white and there were colorful squares part of and around the face. I also put an eye for the mouth and mini blue squares for the eyes. The nose was the only thing that somewhat looked realistic. I chose to do that to make it stick out from the rest.
I chose this work example for my portfolio because I enjoyed the process of creating the art piece. I also chose this art piece because abstract art is my favorite. Anything that looks odd and colorful I find amazing. This art assignment represents communication skills and self directional skills. Communication skills because I am able to create/show something that different types of audiences can understand. Art doesn’t have to have the same meaning to everyone, it is controversial. This also represents self directional skills because I am taking the time to find out the type of art Picasso did. This example demonstrates my current growth by showing my progress on my skill level of art. This assignment challenged me by focusing on creating something abstract. I have noticed that abstract art usually is very meaningful. It interest me because I enjoyed creating something odd and cool. If I was to do this assignment again I would probably do something different with the eyes and college the colorful squares. I would also have the squares more on their own. They sort of look like they are contrasting the face where as I wanted it to overlap the faces features. Other than that I enjoy my art piece. |
